《元史纪事本末》是明代陈邦瞻撰著的一部断代纪事本末体史书。《元史》作为正史，很多地方也是《元史纪事本末》所不及的，比如其丰富的资料性，在研究元代的一些细节问题时，其参考价值要远高于《元史纪事本末》。同时，《元史纪事本末》作为《元史》的缩写本，在写作过程中，虽然也参考了许多其他《元史》中所没有的资料，但基本上还是以《元史》为蓝本，许多观点明显还是沿袭《元史》而来。但是无可否认，《元史纪事本末》在历史文献中还是占有很重要的地位。
